As our technology advances, the one that benefits the most was the gaming industry. Why? New technologies has been developed, new tools to experiment, new creators, and thus creating a new wave of players or specifically Gamers, some even hardcore.

According to the Gaming Industry, hardcore gamer is someone who plays video games as a primary hobby. They tend to spend large amounts of time playing games, often in excess of three or four hours a day.

Back in the days, hardcore gamers are easy to spot, usually males around 12-24 years old. But now, it’s different, you can see your little sister pushing buttons / touchpad repeatedly on her IPhone, a group of cute teenage girls dancing in front of a camera, and risking embarrassment, and even your grandma hitting the keyboard and mouse online waiting for harvest time in her Farmville account. If you actually apply this to the gaming industry, then you can say you’re a hardcore gamer. Although some people who would never even define themselves as ‘Gamers’ are actually pretty hardcore if you think of it, especially among women. So, if you play online for 4-5 hours a day, every day, then you looks like a hardcore gamer to the industry.

And now with portable devices becoming more powerful and easy access to technology these days, it’s not difficult to say that games and applications is now a part of every modern human. So, instead of worrying about defining a gamer or a hardcore, let’s talk how fun, exciting, and entertaining it is to play games.
